Ed Wade made his first moves as acting general manager of the Philadelphia Phillies, trading second baseman Mickey Morandini to the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday for outfielder Doug Glanville and signing infielder Mark Lewis.

Morandini, 31, joined Philadelphia in 1988 and was one of the last remaining stars from the Phillies team that lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1993 World Series. He hit .295 last season with one home run, 39 RBIs, 83 runs and 16 steals.

Glanville, 27, hit .300 in 146 games last season with four home runs, 35 RBIs, 19 steals and 79 runs. He will play center field and lead off the batting order.

Free-agent outfielder Darren Lewis agreed to a one-year contract with the Boston Red Sox for what he said is less than half of the $1.3 million he earned last season with the Chicago White Sox and Dodgers.

“It wasn’t a money situation. It was an opportunity to play,” he said.

Lewis, 30, hit .234 with five RBIs in 81 games with the White Sox last season. After he was traded to the Dodgers, he hit .299, with one homer and 10 RBIs in 26 games.

Right-hander Roger Pavlik, 30, cut loose by Texas last weekend, returned to the Rangers by agreeing to a $1.6-million, one-year contract. . . . First baseman Greg Colbrunn, who has played for three teams in the past two seasons, changed cities again, agreeing to a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies. Colbrunn, 28, will be invited to spring training and has a chance to back up Todd Helton.
