Officials Seek Comments on West Gateway Plan

Share

Pasadena city officials will hold a meeting Tuesday to allow residents and business owners to comment on a development plan for the area around the former Ambassador College known as the West Gateway.

City officials are drafting a plan for the area, centered around the intersection of Orange Grove and Colorado boulevards, where the Rose Parade begins each year.

The area includes the Norton Simon Museum, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and the Elks Club. It is expected to be redeveloped in the coming years because the Worldwide Church of God is trying to sell the former Ambassador College and its facilities.

The draft plan calls for preservating the Vista del Arroyo bungalows adjacent to the court building and more corporate use of the college facility.

The meeting will allow the public to suggest what should be included in an environmental impact report, Senior Planner Laura Dahl said. It will be at the Imperial School Gymnasium, at the corner of DeLacey Avenue and Del Mar Boulevard, from 5 to 9 p.m.
