No Summer Off for the Pros

* What: Eleven NBA teams and six international squads will compete in the summer league, which begins its 28th season and second at Long Beach State.

* Where: The Pyramid, Long Beach State.

* When: Saturday-Aug. 3. Game times are 12:15 p.m., 2:30, 5 and 7:30, with 10 a.m. games scheduled for July 24, 28 and 30.

* Who: NBA teams include the Lakers, Clippers, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Seattle SuperSonics and Detroit Pistons. Among NBA stars scheduled to play are Kobe Bryant, Chris Webber, Jerry Stackhouse, Hersey Hawkins, Loy Vaught and Derek Fisher.

* Saturday’s schedule: 12:15 p.m.--Heat vs. Clippers; 2:30--Pistons vs. Grizzlies; 5--FILA Stars vs. NBA Pros; 7:30--Lakers vs. USA 22-under team.
