Used Books Sought for County Libraries

Share

Fiction, fantasy, history or how-to. Rifle through those sidelined stacks of dust-collecting tomes and turn them in at The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks, where book drive organizers hope to persuade the public to cough up as many as 10,000 new and used books by Aug. 10.

Called “Bookin’ at The Oaks,” the drive will then distribute its collection to the 21 local libraries in Ventura County, as well as Agoura.

All county libraries are in need of new titles for their shelves.

The only requirement is that the donated books be in good condition. They may be deposited in the book bins in the center court of the mall.

Anyone wishing to donate cash toward new book purchases may do so at the mall’s customer service booth.

Children donating books will have a chance to win prizes.

More information on the book drive is available at all libraries in the county.

To reach The Oaks mall, exit the Ventura Freeway at Lynn Road in Thousand Oaks.
