Meeting Seeks Comments on Airport Expansion Plan
The public will get a chance to discuss the proposed expansion of Los Angeles International Airport with Los Angeles City Councilwoman Ruth Galanter and airport officials at a meeting tonight.
Galanter and officials from the Airport Commission, the Los Angeles Unified School District and the city Transportation Department will address issues such as surface transportation, air quality, noise and air space safety at a 7:30 p.m. meeting at Westchester Christian Church, Galanter spokeswoman Niki Tennant said.
The city’s Department of Airports is preparing the environmental impact report required for expanding LAX. The report will take several months, Tennant said.
