Share

A new airline that aims to provide easier access from the Midwest to the West and East coasts is close to raising the money it needs to begin operations. Des Moines-based AccessAir needed $14.9 million to win federal permission to start flying. Corporate investments have brought the total to $14 million, with the rest expected soon. The airline would offer jet service from several Iowa cities and Wichita, Kan. Executives plan to start with service to Los Angeles and New York.
