Authorities have identified three motorists killed Friday in traffic accidents in Oak View and Ventura.

The California Highway Patrol on Saturday identified 63-year-old William Tate of Oxnard as the second man killed in a head-on collision Friday afternoon on California 33.

Tate was driving south on California 33 in Oak View when his car swerved across the double yellow line and collided with that of 71-year-old Frank J. Fragiacomo of Oak View, said CHP spokesman Dave Cockrill. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no other passengers or injuries in the crash, which occurred about 2:30 p.m. on California 33, according to Barry Parker, a Ventura County firefighter and paramedic.

In Friday’s other auto fatality, a 48-year-old Castaic woman was killed when she drove into a ditch while traveling north on the Ventura Freeway just south of Ventura Road at 9:15 p.m.

Elizabeth Anne Kline was pinned under her car after it swerved off the freeway, hit a ditch and flipped over, authorities said.

CHP officials did not know what caused Kline’s car to swerve off the road. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
