With Brock Huard not 100%, Marques Tuiasosopo is expected to start at quarterback for the No. 6 Washington Huskies when they go after their 13th consecutive Pac-10 victory today against Oregon at Seattle.

Tuiasosopo, a freshman, is the son of former Seattle Seahawk defensive lineman Manu Tuiasosopo.

Huard, a sophomore, leads the nation in passing efficiency (169.37). Tuiasosopo actually has a better passing efficiency (180.22), but he hasn’t played enough to get a national rating.

Tuiasosopo was six for six, including one for 41 yards, in the second half of a 27-0 victory over USC last Saturday after Huard sprained his left ankle for the second time this season. Huard’s ankle was originally injured in the first quarter of a loss to No. 1 Nebraska on Sept. 20.

Tailback Rashaan Shehee is out because of a sprained left knee and sophomore Maurice Shaw will start.

If a plan by the University of Idaho and Washington State is approved, both the Vandals and the Cougars will play home games in Pullman, Wash., starting in 1999.

Officials from both universities announced Friday they intend to seek approval of the five-year lease that will allow Idaho to enter the NCAA Division I-A ranks.

The plan needs approval of the NCAA and boards of regents of both institutions.

Idaho plays in the I-A Big West Conference but does not meet I-A requirements of a 30,000-seat stadium or average attendance of 17,000 and has I-AA status.

The Vandals play in 16,000-seat Kibbie Dome. Martin Stadium, on the Washington State campus eight miles away, seats 37,600.

Ohio State’s board of trustees has given the go-ahead to a $150-million renovation and expansion of Ohio Stadium.

Work is scheduled to begin in May and to be completed by the start of the 2001 season.

The stadium will keep its distinctive horseshoe shape after the renovation and it will seat 96,000--7,000 more than is currently listed as capacity.
