Alex Kropach scored on a 29-yard run with 2:53 to play to cap a 28-point fourth quarter for Crespi High and give the Celts a 28-27 come-from-behind victory over Alemany in a Del Rey League game Friday night at Alemany.

The Celts (6-4, 2-3 in league play) trailed, 21-0, entering the fourth quarter. Howard Johnson scored on two 10-yard runs in the quarter. Howard’s two-point conversion run following his second touchdown gave Crespi a 22-21 lead with 3:51 to play.

Alemany (2-8, 0-5) quickly regained the lead when Deandre Scott scored on a 66-yard run two plays later. A two-point pass attempt failed, leaving the Indians with a 27-22 lead with 3:25 left.

A 38-yard kickoff return by Kevin Turner gave Crespi the ball at the Alemany 44-yard line, setting up Kropach’s game-winning run.

Alemany set up for a 58-yard field goal attempt with three seconds left, but the snap was dropped by holder Chris Arguello.

The Indians scored a touchdown in each of the first three quarters. Deon Scott scored on a 39-yard pass from Casey Clausen in the second quarter and Scott’s brother, Deandre, scored the first of his two touchdowns on an eight-yard run in the third quarter.

Both teams played at least part of the game without key starters. Alemany running back Miguel Fletcher sat out because of a broken hand suffered last week against Loyola. Crespi quarterback Kevin Cork was sidelined in the second half because of a rib injury.

Clausen completed 14 of 26 for 197 yards.
