SOFTBALL
Matador signings: The Cal State Northridge softball team signed three more players to national letters of intent Thursday.
Mapuana Bal, Summer Richardson and Sandra Wilson all committed to the Matadors for the 1999 season, Coach Janet Sherman said, calling her newcomers “the best signing class we’ve had since going to Division I.”
Bal’s Pinole Valley High team won three consecutive league championships.
Richardson, an all-state pitcher from Boron High, compiled a 34-1 record in three seasons.
Wilson, a third baseman and catcher, earned All-County honors at Atascadero High.
