What’s happening in the next few weeks:
* Superstar cellist Yo-Yo Ma, right, debuts his U.S. tour of “Tango Apasionado” with the Seattle Symphony Dec. 4 at the Paramount Theater. The work features the modern tango music of Argentina’s late composer Astor Piazzolla. 901 Pine St., (206) 292-ARTS.
* “Leonardo Lives” continues through Jan. 4 at the Seattle Art Museum. The exhibition features Da Vinci’s 500-year-old writings and illustrations as well as works by modern artists influenced by the Renaissance genius. 100 University St., (206) 292-ARTS.
* Seattle Christmas Ship Festival, Dec. 1-23. A fleet of ships decorated for the holidays both inside and out sail Puget Sound in nightly cruises. Various locations. Argosy Cruises, (206) 623-1445. $15-$25.
* Pacific Northwest Ballet’s production of the “Nutcracker” runs Dec. 4-30 at the Seattle Opera House, Mercer and 3rd avenues North, (206) 292-ARTS.
* The Puff Daddy and the Family World Tour is bypassing Southern California this winter but makes a stop at the Tacoma Dome Dec. 20. Also in the show: Busta Rhymes, Foxy Brown, Lil’ Kim, Usher, 112, Mase, Lil’ Cease, the LOX, the Firm, Jay-Z and Kid Capri. 2727 East D St., Tacoma, (206) 628-0888.
* Ring in the New Year at the Seattle Center Space Needle. There are three parties to choose from: a disco party, $65; a five-course dinner at the Space Needle Restaurant, $150; and a classic rock party on the Observation Deck sponsored by a local radio station, $65. 5th and Broad streets.
