Man on Parole for Drug Charge Held on Suspicion of Making Methamphetamine

Garden Grove officers have raided a methamphetamine lab and arrested the homeowner, who was on parole for running a drug lab at the same home two years ago, police said.

Steven Ashlock 36, of 11431 Presidio Way, was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing methamphetamine and conspiracy to manufacture the drug.

About 3 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to Ashlock’s home after neighbors complained of chemical fumes, police said. Officers recognized the home as the same one where Ashlock operated a lab in 1995, police said.

A new lab was discovered in the garage, along with chemicals and a small amount of the drug, police said. Garden Grove detectives and agents from the state Department of Justice spent the night examining and dismantling the lab, police said.

Four other people were arrested at the home, but police did not identify them Wednesday.
