Four Interceptions Help Corona del Mar Win

COSTA MESA — After a scoreless first half, Corona del Mar’s offense got rolling, scoring 16 second-half points to defeat Saddleback, 16-0, in a nonleague game Friday at Orange Coast College.
Bubb Rader got the first points for Corona del Mar (2-2) with a 38-yard field goal with 17 seconds left in the third quarter.
Ryan Cooper and Hunter MacDonald each had two interceptions for the Sea Kings, with MacDonald setting up a touchdown after returning one for 49 yards. Nate Lemmerman then ran it in from one-yard out with 10:15 left in the game.
Dennis Alshuler rounded out the scoring, hitting Mark Hatfield with a three-yard pass with 5:40 left. Alshuler rushed for 58 yards in six carries and completed eight of 12 passes for 51 yards and one interception.
Joseph Tagaola led Saddleback (1-3) with 94 yards in 21 carries. Sal Pedroza completed eight of 18 passes for 108 yards, with four interceptions.
