TONIGHT’S GAME
ATLANTA’S JOHN SMOLTZ (15-12, 3.02 ERA) vs. FLORIDA’S TONY SAUNDERS (4-6, 4.61 ERA)
Site--Pro Player Stadium
TV--Channel 4, 5 p.m.
* Update--The Braves reverted to form in Game 2, and now the fun moves to Miami. Smoltz, a veteran right-hander, has 10 postseason victories and is tied for first on the all-time list with Whitey Ford and Dave Stewart. Saunders, a left-handed rookie, lacks Smoltz’s experience, but he was tough against Atlanta during the regular season, going 3-0 with a 1.65 ERA. “I’ve been very fortunate every time I pitch against them,” Saunders said. “Everything just seems to go right.”
