Antuan Palacios scored on a one-yard run on the opening play of the fourth quarter and Channel Islands High held on to give rookie Coach Jack Willard his first victory, a 16-14 decision over Thousand Oaks on Thursday night in a Marmonte League game at Thousand Oaks.

Thousand Oaks (2-3, 1-1 in league play) responded with a 15-play, 80-yard drive that included a fake punt and culminated with an 11-yard touchdown run by quarterback Scott Ange on a bootleg play with 5:15 remaining.

Palacios, who rushed for 109 yards in 23 carries, prevented any last-minute heroics by Thousand Oaks by rushing for three first downs that enabled the Raiders (1-4, 1-1) to run out the clock.
