Services Scheduled for Slain Surgeon
Funeral services for Dr. Jeanine Chalabian-Baliozian, the Huntington Beach surgeon who was shot and killed, allegedly by her estranged husband, are today in Glendale.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Church of the Recessional at Forest Lawn Mortuary, 1712 S. Glendale Ave.
Chalabian-Baliozian, 35, was found Oct. 10 in her car, shot several times, at a fast-food restaurant, police said.
Her husband, Hratch Baliozian, 51, of San Marino, turned himself in to authorities and is being held in Orange County Jail without bail, police said.
His arraignment on a murder charge is scheduled Oct. 31 in Orange County Municipal Court in Westminster.
Chalabian-Baliozian was completing her third year of residency at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
She also taught at USC and had been chosen to head a new surgical technology research center.
USC is holding a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 29 in the Mayer Auditorium on campus, 1975 Zonal Ave., Los Angeles.
