Updates--Yolanda Griffith, the ABL’s leading scorer (24.7 points) and rebounder (14.3), leads Long Beach against a team the StingRays beat in their home opener, 98-91, last week. Since then, Long Beach has beaten and lost to Colorado. San Jose dropped a 79-75 game at Portland Wednesday. The ABL enriched the contract of San Jose point guard Jennifer Azzi on Thursday, signing her to an extension through 2002. In the Portland loss, Azzi had 23 points on eight-for-12 shooting from the floor--including two for two from behind the three-point line--and five for five from the line.
