Multi-sport standout Amanda Freed, who has orally committed to play softball at UCLA, will lead Pacifica (9-1, 9-0 in league) as it attempts to clinch the Garden Grove League title when it hosts Garden Grove (9-3, 8-2) at 5 today. Pacifica narrowly defeated Garden Grove in the first meeting, 8-15, 7-15, 15-10, 15-5, 15-11.

Today at 5:30 in the Sunset League, Esperanza (7-5, 3-4) plays at Huntington Beach (9-5, 3-4), which is 1-4 since starting outside hitter Lori Daedelow dislocated her shoulder Oct. 15. Both teams are tied with Los Alamitos (4-9, 3-4) for third in the league.
