Last year, Buena High tied Santa Barbara for the Channel League boys’ water polo championship.

The Dons ensured there will not be a repeat of that scenario Thursday by defeating Buena for the second time this season, 8-7, at Santa Barbara.

Conor Nideffer scored four goals and Patrick Treanor had 11 saves for the Bulldogs (12-10, 6-2 in league play), who held a 3-2 halftime lead.
