Man Who Attacked Teenage Girl Sought
Port Hueneme police are asking for help in locating a man who attacked a 14-year-old girl on the bike path of Bubbling Springs Park on July 22.
The girl was walking along the bike path near the intersection of Pleasant Valley and Ventura roads at 10:30 p.m., police said. A man approached her, tried to kiss her, and when she resisted, punched her repeatedly in the face, police said.
The girl screamed and managed to escape. A passerby drove her to safety. The girl described the attacker as about 22 years old, 6 feet tall, 190 pounds, with slicked-back dark hair and a goatee. He wore dark blue pants, a white T-shirt and a blue Nike jacket, police said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 384-8255.
