Historic District to Be Topic at Open Houses
To learn more about a proposal to create a historic district in central Anaheim, residents are invited to an open house Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Anaheim Museum, 241 S. Anaheim Blvd.
A second open house will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Union Pacific Train Station, 100 S. Atchison St.
Phyllis Mueller, the city’s neighborhood preservation coordinator, said the hope is to build consensus on the proposal aimed at recognizing the architectural, historic and cultural qualities of the neighborhood. There are about 1,100 buildings of historical significance in the proposed Anaheim Colony Historic District, bounded by North, South, East and West streets.
