Latinas to Discuss Breast Cancer Experiences

Share

Seeking to meet what organizers call a “great need in the Latino community,” Latinas who have experienced breast cancer will share experiences with one another today at White Memorial Medical Center in Boyle Heights.

“In the Spanish-speaking community there is a lack of services for women who have or have had breast cancer,” said Patrice Marcks, a nurse specialist at White Memorial. “This meeting is for women who have emotional and family issues due to the cancer. It is for their self-image.”

The women will gather at a meeting of the hospital’s Spanish Language Breast Cancer Support Group at 8:30 a.m. at the medical center’s education and training room, 1720 Cesar E. Chavez Ave.
