Eric Wynalda entered the game as a substitute and scored a goal in the 58th minute to lead the San Jose Clash to a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday night.

The Clash (12-18) kept its playoff hopes alive with the victory over the slumping Rapids (12-17).

It was Wynalda’s first goal since being sidelined with a groin injury.

Colorado goalkeeper Paul Grafer blocked Lawrence Lozzano’s shot but couldn’t control the rebound and Wynalda pushed it in.
