Gray Suffers Concussion
Mel Gray, the leading kick returner in NFL history, suffered a concussion on the first play of the Baltimore-Tennessee game Sunday.
Gray, who has topped 1,000 return yards for the Oilers the last two seasons and has more than 12,000 yards in combined kickoff and punt returns in his career, was hit in the head on the opening kickoff.
Indianapolis quarterback Jim Harbaugh also was knocked groggy in the final minute of the Colts’ game at Buffalo and he was replaced by Paul Justin.
Green Bay left tackle John Michels hurt his left knee on the third play from scrimmage against Minnesota. He did not return to the game.
Defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy left Seattle’s game against San Diego in the second quarter because of a sprained left knee.
