Fund-Raising Luncheon to Feature Speech by Parks
Los Angeles Police Chief Bernard C. Parks is scheduled to speak today at the inaugural fund-raising luncheon for the Rampart Division’s Boosters Assn. to show appreciation for the community’s involvement with law enforcement.
The booster association is a nonprofit organization composed of business and community residents who support the Rampart Division’s youth programs, donate equipment to the division and assist officers who are injured on duty.
“The boosters are the community working with us and helping us with small things that make our jobs easier,” said Officer Nua Kruse. “They help us get what the city can’t get for us.”
The luncheon is open to the public and will be held at the Oxford Palace Hotel, 745 S. Oxford Ave. Tickets are $35.
