Marching Orders--Put your best foot forward and take a hike in support of the national March for Parks fund-raising program. Three dates for walks have been scheduled at Laguna Coast Wilderness Park: April 18 and 25 and May 2, starting at 8, 8:45 and 9:30 a.m. The hikes, sponsored by the Laguna Canyon Foundation and Laguna Greenbelt, are of moderate difficulty and will go through an area of the park not yet open for recreational uses. The $20 fee, $15 of which is tax deductible, includes a guided walking tour, parking, bus transportation and a “Keep It Wild” T-shirt. Walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, water and a snack are recommended. Reservations are required. Information: (714) 855-7275.

At the Rancho Mission Viejo Land Conservancy, March for Parks will be recognized with a “wildflower wander” April 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A guide will take groups through the hills and canyons of the area. Cost is $22 per person, which includes a T-shirt. Cameras and binoculars are suggested, along with walking shoes or hiking boots, a hat and sunscreen. Bring lunch for a picnic. Also planned on April 18 is the Bolsa Chica Land Trust’s March for the Mesa, a 10K walkathon, with funds going to preserve the wetlands and mesa. Registration starts at 9 a.m.; the walk begins at 10 a.m. Information: (714) 960-9939.

Wild Wings--Photographer Kenneth Fink will bring some of his favorite shots, including nesting ospreys, the endangered Attwater’s prairie chicken and the gannets of Bonaventure Island, to Thursday’s meeting of the South Coast Audubon Society.
