U.S. to Give $530,000 for Repairs at Brackett Field
The U.S. Department of Transportation will provide the county with $530,000 to repair and update Brackett Field, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) announced Friday.
The funds will be used to rehabilitate runway lighting, airfield electrical vaults and install distance signs and an emergency generator, officials said.
Brackett, a general aviation airport owned by the county and run by Comarco, a private management firm, is the designated emergency backup airport for Ontario International Airport.
“These funds will allow Brackett Field to better meet the needs of air travelers and businesses and enable the airport to operate more efficiently and safely,” Boxer said in a statement.
