Former Montclair Prep standout Torey Lovullo was called up by the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday and started at second base against Tampa Bay.

Lovullo, 33, played 86 games at triple-A Buffalo, batting .320 with 16 home runs and 61 runs batted in.

“With Lovullo, we can get a little more consistent offensive production at second base,” Indian Manager Mike Hargrove said.

Lovullo has played for Detroit, the New York Yankees, the Angels, Seattle and Oakland.

Ramon Vasquez, Jayson Bass and Brendan Kingman each had three hits for Lancaster in a 9-5 victory over San Bernardino at the Hangar on Tuesday. Casey Snow hit a home run for San Bernardino.

SUNS

Ryan Seidel had four hits and drove in three runs and the Suns defeated Western, 10-3, at Oxnard College for their eighth victory in the last 10 games.
