Perreault Still Optimistic

Share

After four goals in the first four games, King center Yanic Perreault hasn’t scored in 19 games. As a result, he has yielded his spot on the second line to Olli Jokinen, moving back to the third line and handling checking duties.

“It’s changed a little bit,” Perreault said. “You’re playing [defense] against a good offensive line, but that can help you get chances because maybe they don’t play defense as well. I’ve been getting chances, but the puck hasn’t been going in.”

He has been playing on a line with Craig Johnson and Nathan LaFayette as well as shifting into other lines, depending on injuries. “We showed against Chicago that we can play offense,” said Perreault, who had two assists in that game. “But some of my best games have come when I don’t score.”
