Davis Waiting for Clearance

Share

Baron Davis continues to scrimmage in practice and even tested his recuperating left knee in a pickup game with NBA players, among them Hakeem Olajuwon, on Monday.

But as of Tuesday, Davis has failed to convince doctors that he should return to action against Delaware State tonight. Davis could be cleared for play as late as this afternoon.

“One of the concerns is that when you get into a game, you might be more likely because of adrenaline or emotion to try to do something too soon,” Coach Steve Lavin said. “In a controlled scrimmage situation, the doctors think it’s less likely [he will re-injure the knee.]”

Center Dan Gadzuric found a little bit of home in an unlikely spot--the visitors’ locker room at the Sports Arena.

Gadzuric stopped by to see the St. Bonaventure team after its 91-82 loss to USC on Monday night. The native of Den Haag, Holland, was visiting a countryman, Peter Van Paassen. The Bonnies’ 6-11 forward, from Zoetermeer, played youth basketball with Gadzuric for five years.
