Contract Vote

Re “At What Cost Care,” Dec. 6.
In the article, Scott Holleran asks a question of union President Anne Clarke: “Do the union members vote to approve the terms?”
Anne either misunderstood the question or was misquoted, as the answer was “no.”
The union membership always votes to approve the terms of their contract and, in fact, voted Dec. 11 to accept the tentative agreement recently reached.
The union is greatly concerned about this issue because it gives the impression that there is no democracy and that members do not vote on their contract.
