Milton’s Basket Leads the Power
Rookie forward DeLisha Milton made a three-point shot with 28 seconds left in overtime Sunday to give the Portland Power an 83-82 victory over the San Jose Lasers before 7,573 at Portland, Ore.
“It’s not a shot I shoot every day, it just so happens God was with me,” Milton said.
The Power (24-15) still lead Long Beach by 1 1/2 games with five left in the American Basketball League’s regular season.
Colorado 85, New England 71--Edna Campbell and Debbie Black combined for a 9-0 run in the final 90 seconds to clinch the Xplosion’s victory over the Blizzard before 13,489 at Denver.
Columbus 74, Philadelphia 68--Katie Smith scored all of her 18 points in the second half at Philadelphia before 3,073 as the Quest rallied for their 12th win in a row.
