Blues Festival to Aid School Arts Programs
The fourth annual Laguna Beach Blues Festival will be held Saturday in the Artists’ Theatre at Laguna Beach High School.
John Heussenstamm, a blues guitarist and Laguna Beach resident, will headline the show, which will also feature other local performers.
Proceeds from the 8 p.m. concert will benefit the SchoolPower FOOT Performing Arts Fund, which offers financial support to the music, theater and arts programs of the Laguna Beach Unified School District. Money from the show would allow the district to buy band instruments and pay stipends for performing arts instructors, said Jon E. Jenett, a board member of SchoolPower.
The group donated $600,000 to the current school district budget, and nearly $6 million since 1981.
Tickets, $15, are available at the SchoolPower office, 733 St. Anns St. Information: (714) 497-6811.
