Michigan Loses Maceo Baston
Michigan forward Maceo Baston will be sidelined at least two weeks with a chip fracture to his right foot, the school announced Wednesday.
Baston, a 6-foot-9 senior averaging 13.9 points, injured his foot late in Saturday’s game against Minnesota when he landed on another player’s foot and has not practiced since. The injury was discovered during a CAT scan.
Baston’s foot will be immobilized with a fiberglass cast and he will be on crutches for two weeks. He will be re-evaluated at that time, the school said.

Jody Conradt of Texas, the winningest coach in women’s history, and Harley Redin, who won six AAU titles with Wayland Baptist, were nominated for the Basketball Hall of Fame.
The two coaches joined Boston Celtics great Larry Bird and 10 other nominees for possible induction this year. To be elected, nominees must get at least 18 votes from a 24-member honors committee.
Those selected will be announced June 29 with the induction ceremonies to be held in October.
Conradt, who has coached Texas since 1976, has a career record of 707-206. Her 1986 squad was the first undefeated women’s team to win the NCAA Division I championship.
