SOUTHLAND ROUNDUP
Nevada 82, Cal State Fullerton 67--The crumbling Titans (8-13, 3-8) are alone in last place in the Big West Western Division after losing their fifth consecutive conference home game.
It was Fullerton’s 10th defeat in its last 13 games, but this was the season’s most decisive loss at home. Fullerton hadn’t been beaten this badly in Titan Gym since a 73-56 loss to Long Beach State in 1996.
“You’re not going to beat anyone allowing the opposition to shoot 60%,” Titan Coach Bob Hawking said.
Nevada (12-8, 8-3) shot 66.7% in the second half and 58.9% for the game.
The Wolf Pack had three players score 20 or more points. Paul Culbertson led the way with 21, but center Marvin Wilson and guard Jimmy Carroll each had 20.
Guard Chris Dade had 17 for the Titans, with sophomore point guard Kenroy Jarrett getting a career-high 15, all in the second half. Senior guard Chris St. Clair continued to struggle, missing his seven shots.
