Nashira Shaw will miss the remainder of the Cal State Fullerton women’s basketball team’s season after being injured Tuesday night against UC Irvine.

Shaw suffered a broken cheek bone when she was hit by an elbow in the first minute of the game. Shaw, who is scheduled for surgery next week, was averaging eight points and seven rebounds.

The city of Santa Ana and T.K.O Boxing Club will hold a Valentine’s Day amateur boxing card at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Albert D. Salgado Community Center, 706 N. Newhope. Tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for children 16 and younger.

Bouts feature fighters 8 to 18 years old from clubs located throughout Southern California and Las Vegas. Proceeds will go to buy new gym equipment. For more information, contact Mary Lara (714) 825-0073.
