In nonconference baseball:

Nevada Las Vegas 7, Cal State Fullerton 5--Ryan Ludwick scored on a passed ball in the eighth inning to break a 4-4 tie for UNLV (12-3).

Fullerton (6-5) took a 3-1 lead on home runs by Aaron Rowand and Ryan Owens in the third inning. UNLV bounced back to take a 4-3 lead in the sixth.

The Titans tied the score, 4-4, when David Bacani stole third and scored on catcher Sean Campbell’s throwing error.

Southern California College 6, Hawaii Pacific 2--James Dent had two hits as Southern California College ended a four-game losing streak.

In nonconference softball:

Pacific Christian 8-6, Occidental 0-0--Kim Myers had three hits, including a home run, and four RBIs in the first game of a doubleheader for Pacific Christian. Amanda Boswell pitched a four-hitter in the five-inning game.

In the Big West Swimming and Diving Championships:

UC Irvine men win relay--The Anteaters beat UC Santa Barbara by more than two seconds to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1 minute 32.98 seconds.

After two days of competition, UC Santa Barbara leads the men’s competition with 216 points. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is in second (154.5) and Irvine third with 115.

In women’s competition, Nevada pulled further ahead, winning all of the women’s events, and has 424 points.

In Big West Conference women’s tennis:

UC Irvine 7, Cal State Fullerton 2--Darian Chappell beat Fullerton’s Amy Medlin, 6-1, 6-0, in singles and with Liz Yim defeated Medlin and Debbie Vonusa in doubles, 6-4, 6-0, to lead Irvine (3-3). Yim also won in singles, defeating Eleanor Luzano, 6-0, 6-2.
