League play begins with the top matchup featuring fourth-ranked Los Alamitos (6-2), led by standout goalie Jackie Frank, and ninth-ranked Esperanza (6-3) and Caroline Guidi meeting in a Sunset League opener at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Golden West College. Other top matches include second-ranked Capistrano Valley (6-3) playing at 10th-ranked Foothill (5-1) at 10 a.m. Friday and University (5-3) plays at seventh-ranked Villa Park (10-3) at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
