Palmer Sets O.C. Career Assist Mark
University’s Eric Palmer set the Orange County career assist record with 810 after tallying 12 assists in an 88-85 loss to Santa Fe Springs St. Paul in a nonleague boys’ basketball game Saturday at University.
Palmer broke the record of 804 held by Ocean View’s Jim Harris (1990-93).
Palmer moves into third place in the Southern Section, behind Jacque Vaughn (Pasadena Muir, 1990-93) with 1,136, and Billy Walker (Riverside North, 1981-84) with 827.
Palmer also had 28 points in the game to bring his career point total to 1,497, breaking Demitrius Zeigler’s school scoring record of 1,470.
