Texas Christian center Lee Nailon was suspended for one game after pleading no contest in Fort Worth to a misdemeanor assault charge for hitting his girlfriend, Coach Billy Tubbs said. Nailon, the NCAA’s fourth-leading scorer at 25.3 points per game, will sit out Saturday night’s game at San Diego State.

Eastern Michigan Coach Milton Barnes was suspended for one game and given a public reprimand for his comments about the officials in Saturday’s 78-75 loss at Bowling Green.
Barnes said officials should “get out of the way” in the final minutes of close games and that it was the second time this season Eastern Michigan had been “screwed down the stretch.”

The Southern Nazarene women’s team lost, 77-75, to Wayland Baptist at Oklahoma City, snapping a 122-game home winning streak, the longest in women’s college basketball history.
