In another Century League game:

Canyon 3, El Modena 1--Reserve Franco Lanperi scored two goals for Canyon (6-8-1, 1-2). Scott Ross added an insurance goal, his first goal of the season. Gabe Mejia scored for El Modena (2-2).

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 3, Kennedy 0--Mark Wade recorded three saves to get his 11th shutout of season. Freshman Ryan Valdez, who returned to action last week after recovering from a broken ankle, scored his fourth goal in three games. El Dorado is 13-5, 4-0.

In the Empire League:

Century 2, Katella 1--Peter Espinoza scored with three minutes left to win the match for Century (5-9-1, 2-2).

In the Golden West League:

No. 1 Saddleback 7, Westminster 0--Alex Licea scored three goals and added two assists and Tomas Serna scored twice for visiting Saddleback (13-1-0, 4-0).

Ocean View 2, No. 6 Santa Ana 1 (OT)--Chris Savage scored with two minutes left in overtime. The Saints (10-4, 3-1) dropped into a tie for second place with Ocean View.

Arnulfo Garcia scored in the first half to give Santa Ana a 1-0 lead. With two minutes left in the half, Dana Bryan’s goal tied the score, 1-1, for the Seahawks (12-7, 3-1).

In the Orange League:

Brea Olinda 2, Valencia 1--Derek Murray and Andrew Dratjowski scored for Brea. Mark Becher made seven saves for Brea Olinda (6-4-3, 2-1-0) and Scott Mazurier had six saves for Valencia. Barry Gartner scored for the Tigers (5-6-2, 2-1-0).

In the Pacific Coast League:

No. 5 Laguna Hills 3, Costa Mesa 1--Kevin McConaughy scored his 12th goal of the season for Laguna Hills (13-3-3, 2-0-1). Abdul Mazid added the game-winner to make it 2-0, but Costa Mesa’s David Tran scored before halftime to narrow the lead. Aaron Hurst added a goal in the second half. Goalie Carlos Ceron made 14 saves for visiting Costa Mesa (1-1-2).

Aliso Niguel 3, University 2--Tom Corwin scored the winning goal for Aliso Niguel with seven minutes remaining. Kyle Ward and Andy Kuno each scored for the Wolverines (6-5-4, 1-2-1).

In the Sea View League:

No. 7 Santa Margarita 6, Corona del Mar 1--Tim Pierce scored three goals, giving him 17 this season, and Perry Valaskantjis had two for Santa Margarita (10-3-3, 2-2).

No. 3 Woodbridge 0, Newport Harbor 0--Doug Allan had three saves for Woodbridge and Diego Grella recorded 10 saves for the Sailors (4-3-2, 2-1-1). Woodbridge remains in sole possession of first place in league with a 12-0-6, 2-0-2 record.

Irvine 4, El Toro 1--Some good defense and goalkeeping by Irvine’s Keven Spear contributed to the victory. Spear had eight saves. Irvine’s win knocks El Toro out of first place, which it shared with Woodbridge.

In the South Coast League:

No. 2 Capistrano Valley 1, No. 9 San Clemente 0--The Cougars were awarded a penalty kick after a hands violation in the penalty box with 10 minutes remaining, and Phil Latini then made the penalty kick for Capistrano Valley (17-2-2, 3-0-1).

Trabuco Hills 3, Mater Dei 2--Trabuco Hill’s Andrew Mizell scored the go-ahead goal with five minutes remaining after Kit Hager’s shot rebounded off the goalkeeper. The Mustangs are 7-6-2, 2-1-1. Mater Dei is 0-2-2 in league.

In Empire League girls’ water polo:

Katella 5, El Dorado 4--Josie Hoien scored two goals to help lift host Katella over defending league champion El Dorado (1-1). Kelly Cornelius made 12 saves for the Knights (8-6, 2-0).

No. 10 University 10, Costa Mesa 7--Amy Hilts’ nine saves was instrumental for University. Erin Hayes had three goals to lead University (11-6, 3-0). Amy Devey scored six goals for Costa Mesa (5-8, 1-2).

In the Sea View League:

No. 6 Newport Harbor 8, No. 8 El Toro 5--Alden Moore scored three of her four goals in the fourth quarter to help Newport Harbor (12-3, 3-0) hold off El Toro (10-5, 2-1).
