Jackson Filled the Bill for This Angel Fan

Share

In his column on Cecil Fielder, J.A. Adande wrote that since Reggie Jackson didn’t have a career year in his first year with the Angels, he should be lumped with those many other players who were failed acquisitions by the Angels.

Jackson may not have had a career year in his first year in Anaheim, but he hit 39 home runs, the third-highest total of his career, to tie for the American League lead. He drove in 101 runs, batted .275 and led the Angels to a division title. I suspect the Angels were thrilled with that production.
