Woman Arrested in Fatal Shooting of Her Boyfriend
A 47-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting her live-in boyfriend in an apparent domestic dispute in the predawn hours Sunday, police said.
Los Angeles police arrested Karen Reynolds of Van Nuys in the death of her 34-year-old boyfriend, whose identity was withheld pending notification of his family.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the couple’s Saticoy Street apartment about 4:30 a.m., and found the man fatally wounded from a gunshot to the upper body, said Lt. Steve La Roche.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Domestic violence appears to be the motive,” La Roche said.
Det. Greg Yacoubian, who is investigating the case, said a revolver was found in the apartment.
Investigators planned to interview relatives of the suspect and the victim to learn more about the nature of the couple’s relationship, Yacoubian said.
