* “Search and Destroy”--The dark drama, about a corporate executive who seeks salvation along with riches and fame and pays an unimagined price, opens tonight at the Tamarind Theatre.

* “The Sugar Bean Sisters”--Nathan Sanders’ Southern Gothic comedy about the eccentric Nettles sisters opens Friday at the Los Angeles Theatre Centre and runs through Feb. 8.
