A woman shot her parents, then mopped up while her mother lay dead in the living room and her disabled father bled from a gunshot wound in a closet that she had nailed shut, authorities said Monday.

Investigators said Naomi Heater, 27, who was adopted as an infant from South Korea, has a long-standing drug problem and was enraged over her parents’ decision to take away her pickup truck.

Toshiko Allen, 70, and her husband, Parker, 63, had been abused by their daughter on several occasions and had obtained a restraining order against her, officials said.

While arguing about the truck Sunday morning, Heater killed her mother and wounded her father in the arm, police said. She allegedly forced him into a closet, nailed the door shut and fled.

Investigators found three bags of bloody towels, tissues and rags, along with empty bottles of cleaning solvents. A section of a wall had been freshly painted.

Parker Allen, who has muscular dystrophy, freed himself after three hours and called authorities. He was hospitalized in fair condition at UC Davis Medical Center.
