Baines Goes on Disabled List
The Baltimore Orioles put veteran designated hitter Harold Baines on the 15-day disabled list Saturday because of a strained left hamstring and recalled outfielder Jeffrey Hammonds, who was on a rehabilitation assignment at double-A Bowie of the Eastern League.
Baines aggravated an existing injury in the fifth inning of Friday’s 3-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox while running the bases.

Oakland recalled Lesher from Edmonton of the Pacific Coast League and optioned right-handed pitcher Steve Connelly to Edmonton.
Lesher was with the A’s during spring training but broke his left foot March 5.
