Mike Marino, a rider in a sidecar in a demonstration race, was taken to the hospital after a crash Saturday night at the Orange County Speedway Fair Derby in Costa Mesa.

The bike, driven by Jeff Carr, hit the wall after the finish line at almost full speed. The force of the crash broke the wall and also broke the bike in two.

Carr flipped over the wall, but was uninjured. Marino lost consciousness, but was awake when transported by paramedics to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana.
