Hanson, Stewart Score 6 Each for Bullfrogs
The race to lead the Bullfrogs in scoring holds much more drama than any game the team plays against a Major League Roller Hockey opponent.
Forward John Hanson scored six goals to take over the team lead by one as the visiting Bullfrogs beat Washington, 20-5, Saturday in Maryland.
Hanson leads with 32 goals, one ahead of Darren Colbourne who scored once Saturday. Glenn Stewart also had six goals against Washington.
It was the third time the Bullfrogs (16-0) have beaten the Power (3-7) this season and also the third time they have scored at least 20 goals in doing so.
Washington, the second-place team in the Coastal Division, is 26 points behind the Bullfrogs. The teams play again tonight.
The Bullfrogs, who outshot the Power, 65-25, won Saturday despite having only nine position players instead of the usual 13.
Chad Wagner and Sean Whyte didn’t make the trip because of injuries, and Kevin St. Jacques and Taj Melson had prior commitments.
