Duesler-Leichtfried, Bohannons Gain Finals
The doubles team of David Bohannon of Garden Grove and Dan Bohannon of Orange and the team of Bob Duesler of Newport Beach and Hank Leichtfried of Irvine advanced to today’s finals of the USTA National Men’s 50 and 55 Hardcourt Championships at Lindborg Racquet Club in Huntington Beach.
The Bohannons beat Brian Cheney of Chandler, Ariz. and Ray Robyn of Newport Beach, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, in the 50 division. They will play Peter Bronson of Scottdale, Ariz. and David Bryant of Oklahoma City.
Duesler and Leichtfried beat Dick Leach of Laguna Beach and Ken Stuart of Newport Beach, 6-1, 7-5, in the 55 division. Duesler and Leichtfried will play Jimmy Parker of Houston and Ken Robinson of San Carlos.
The singles finals start at 10 a.m. today.
