Having reached the target for transfer students’ applications for the fall semester, Cal State Northridge officials said they would not accept any applications after today.

Completed applications must be hand-delivered to the CSUN administrative offices, at the University Student Union on the east side of campus, by 4 p.m. today, said Lorraine Newlon, director of admissions and records. Mail-in applications must be postmarked no later than July 31, she added.

Students can also submit their applications via the Internet by using the application form on the university’s Web site, https://www.csumentor.edu. Internet applications must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. today, she said.

Despite the short notice, Newlon said the university is not likely to see a stampede of students rushing to apply before deadline.

“Most prospective transfer students who are contemplating transferring to CSUN has long since sent in their application forms and other documents,” Newlon said. “There will be some last-minute entries, but we don’t expect that to be a large number.”

Students interested in transferring to CSUN for the fall semester, which begins Aug. 31, can pick up applications at any Los Angeles-area community college or the CSUN administrative office.

Application for the fall for post-baccalaureate and graduate students will remain open. However, applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible, Newlon said.

The spring semester initial filing period will begin Saturday and close Aug. 31.
